Green Blog | Green Twitter

When you want to start to make an effort to have a greener lifestyle, where do you start? I mean there is no big green book delivered to your doorstep with everything you need.

It seems that the only real way to get involved with local schemes, and join groups and memberships for tips and ideas, is by using the internet. There are more blogs and information sites out there now than ever before, there are even profiles on Twitter dedicated to green products, services and news. So if you are just starting out, trying to make that difference, then just have search on Google and you can find all the help you need!

Green Cars- Tata Nano

So here's the car we have all been waiting for, the Nano! Weighing in at just 20 grams (ish), it's light, cheap and economical. Aparantly it will average over 80 MPG which is as good as any economical car nowadays.

But hang on a minute, it runs on petrol! It's not green and it's not the way forward. If it gets more people in developing countries like India onto the roads, then we are getting more CO2 in the atmosphere and not really achieving anything very positive.

It's yet to be seen how the Nano will perform sales wise in Europe and the West, the small size and instability (due to weight saving and materials used) will render the car a little unsafe for motorways and busy roads alike.

A green home

What is a green home? Is it a home that doesn't use plastic bags in the bin, and turns the TV off standby at every opportunity?

Or is a green home one that is run soley by a vegetable powered generator and solar panels?!

Well every home has a green element to it, and it is just the level of effort that we all make that that is the difference.

A green home starts with the owners deciding to change their lifestyle, and can be simple improvements like cavity insulation or loft insulation. The important thing is to take advice from blogs like GreenASAP and make simple changes one by one. Good luck!
